All Piping, Drumming and Drum Major courses will be conducted by Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.

P-M TERRY LEE

Pipe Major Terry Lee is one of the most prominent and successful pipe band leaders in history. Under his direction, SFU has captured the World Pipe Band Championship on six occasions and finished second an additional nine times. Terry is one of only seven Pipe Majors to win the World Championship more than once. His ability to produce superb pipe band performances is respected worldwide.

P-S JACK LEE

Jack has been regarded as one of the World’s great pipers for over 30 years. In addition to being
the Pipe Sergeant of SFU since its inception, Jack has won all the top solo prizes in piping at least once: both Gold Medals, Clasp at Inverness (2), Silver Star from Inverness (4), Bratach Gorm from London (2), the Glenfiddich Championship and many more.

L/D J. REID MAXWELL is certainly one of today’s most decorated drummers. When the SFU Pipe Band captured the Worlds in 1995, Reid became the first person in history to lead the drum corps of two different bands to be named World Pipe Band Champions. Reid obtained his 18th World Championship, an amazing feat by any standard.

ROBERT MATHIESON

In 2010, Robert completed an incredible career as the Pipe Major of Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia during which he led them to five World championships. He stunned the pipe band world by joining SFU and we couldn’t be happier! Robert brings a wealth of experience and his enormous talent to New York.

ALAN BEVAN is one of the world’s top pipers. His career highlights include winning the Gold and Silver Medals at Inverness, and the Jig events at both Oban and Inverness, and he was the overall winner of the Pipe-Major Donald MacLeod, M.B.E. Memorial competition in Stornoway.

ANDREW BONAR has won many solo prizes in Scotland and Canada, including the 2010 Silver Medal at the Northern Meeting, and has been a long-time member of the band.

JORI CHISHOLM

Jori has won prizes at home and in Scotland including the A Marches at Oban and top prizes in the Gold Medal at Oban and Inverness. Jori is one of the world’s busiest and sought after piping teachers.

BLAIR BROWN

Blair played with Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band for six seasons, winning two World Championship titles and three World Drum Corps titles. He has made the final of the World Solo Drumming Championships six out of the eight times he has competed.

IAN LAWSON

Ian lives in Northern Ireland and came to SFU after leading the Bleary and District corps for 12 years. He is a well-respected teacher and advisor to solo students and has a reputation for being able to achieve a great sound out of all drums.

GORDON LEE

Gordon comes from Kirkcaldy, Scotland. Before joining the band Gordon played in grade one with Dysart and Dundonald. He is also a regular finalist and prize winner at the World Solo Drumming Championships.

TANO MARTONE

Tano is a Scot who lives in Vancouver and plays with SFU after several years in Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia.

KATHRYN TAWSE

Kathryn is the highly talented bass drummer of SFU. She has been called the World’s best bass drummer by many people on many occasions.

BRITTANY ANGELTVEDT

Brittany has played with the band for many years and during that time has won the World Championships two times. She is a dynamic drummer with a wealth of experience.

MICHAEL O’NEIL

Michael travels from Carmel, California to play with the band. He has won the Gold Medal Tenor event at Winter Storm in Kansas City twice. Michael is ranked among the world’s elite tenor drummers

JASON PAGUIO

We are proud to have the two-time World Champion Drum Major in SFU. Jason is incredibly dynamic and thrilling to watch and will be a big hit in New York. He can help your band’s drum major like no one else.

DAVID WILTON

The World’s great highland dancer is here! David is the current and seven-time World Champion and easily ranked among the great dancers of all time. He is amazing to watch and is also a terrific teacher.
